The expected release of the game was announced by Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto alongside Apple’s Chief Executive Tim at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco earlier this month.
Speaking during the announcement Cook said, “Since the launch of the App Store someone has been missing on the App Store, but I’m glad to say, he’s arrived now.”
On his part, Miyamoto said that the beauty of Super Mario Run is that it easy to play. He said, “You can even play it one handed, while you’re holding onto the handle on the subway while eating a hamburger, or even an Apple.”
The game costs a one time fee of $10 to play but will come with additional in-app content for players to purchase. It will exclusively be available on the iOS platform on December 15h. Unconfirmed reports say that it might be available on Android at a later date.
